Rama Burshtein
Rama Burshtein was born in New York in 1967. She graduated from the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem in 1994. She uses cinema as a means of expression within the Orthodox community. She writes, directs and produces fiction for the Orthodox community, some of which are aimed exclusively at women. She teaches directing and screenwriting at several film schools within the Orthodox community in Jerusalem. Fill the Void is her first feature-length fiction film. She directed The Wedding Plan in 2016 and Fire Dance in 2022.

Joseph Cedar
Joseph Cedar was born in New York in 1968. He emigrated to Israel with his family at the age of six. He graduated from the Tish School of the Arts at New York University. His first film Time of Favor received numerous awards and was a popular success in his country. Campfire, his second feature film, was selected for the FICA in 2005 and received the Audience Award. In 2007, he received the Silver Bear at the Berlinale for Beaufort. Footnote is his fourth feature film. Since then, he has been making television series.

Kore-eda Hirokazu
Kore-eda Hirokazu was born in Tokyo in 1962. He graduated from Waseda University. In 1987, he joined the team of TV Man Union. He directed many documentaries that were awarded. His first feature-length fiction film Maborosi won an award at Venice in 1995. The FICA paid tribute to him in 2012 by screening 14 of his films. All his films were selected and awarded at major international festivals.

Ozu Yasujirô
Ozu Yasujirô was born in 1903 in Tokyo. At a very young age, he became passionate about American cinema. He directed his first silent films in 1927. He moved on to talking films in 1934. He is one of the most famous directors in Japan. He directed 34 silent films and 20 talking films. Only 37 are preserved today. He died in 1963.
