Shira lives in an orthodox Jewish family in Tel Aviv. At 18, she dreams of marriage. When her sister, Esther, dies giving birth, Yochay, her brother-in-law, is encouraged by the community to go and get married again in Belgium. Her mother has a better idea : and what if Shira were to marry Yochay? Shira will have to choose between her heart and common sense.
‘Fill the Void’ is the very first film made by an ultra-Orthodox Jew (Rama Burshtein, born in New-York) in Israel in the Hasidic commu- nity of Tel-Aviv.
