Pe Maung Same
Pe Maung Same was born in Yangon in 1974. Initially an editor of newsreels and feature films, he attended the very first workshop of the Yangon Film School in 2005 and worked on a large number of productions often as director of photography.
The Maw Naing and Pe Maung Same co-direct Myanmar's first feature-length documentary.

Zhang Tao
Zhang Tao, after studying law and starting his career as a civil servant, joined the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, in the department of film theory and practice. He graduated in 2015. During his studies, he shot his first short film Yi Ping, then in 2015, Laughing to Die, which won an award.
Zhang Tao chose to film the Chinese countryside of Shandong for his first feature film, Last Laugh.
In 2017, he directed Supernatural Events and, in 2022, Yin Yang Zhen guai ta.

Midi Z
Midi Z was born in 1982 in Burma into a very modest family. He moved to Taiwan at the age of 16 after receiving a scholarship. He studied art at university and presented his first short film, Paloma Blanca in 2006. He then entered the Golden Horse Film Academy, founded by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien, where he would sign his second short film, Motorcycle Driver, in 2008. In 2011 (the year he officially became a naturalized Taiwanese citizen), Midi Z embarked on a trilogy on Burma, Return to Burma in 2011, Poor Folk in 2012 and Ice Poison in 2014. He alternates between short films, documentaries and fiction, including Nina Wu in 2019 and The Unseen Sister in 2024.
