Werner Herzog

Werner Herzog (born Werner H. Stipetic) was born in Munich in 1942. He grew up in Bavaria in a remote mountain village. At the age of 19, he worked to produce his first short film, Heracles. Since 1984, he has lived between the Bavarian capital and Los Angeles. An iconic figure of post-war New German Cinema, he has directed around 80 films.
