Kawabata Kohei is a filmmaker and producer who specializes in boundary-pushing documentaries. The long-distance runner has traveled to over 33 countries on five continents and 16 states in the United States to produce documentaries on a wide range of topics. He is passionate about amplifying marginalized voices around the world. The central character in Dearest Viet is one of those voices.

Megan Wonowidjoyo is a multimedia artist who teaches at the Faculty of Cinematic Arts, Multimedia University Malaysia. She is also a film editor and producer. In 2013, she directed her first animated short film Libertas, followed by the short film Woman at Home in 2017 and the documentaries Home Sweet Home and Be Right Back in 2023.
