Flora Lichaa  

Flora Lichaa is a teacher and researcher specializing in Chinese cinema. After earning a bachelor's and then a master's degree in Chinese studies, she defended her doctoral thesis at the National Institute of Oriental Languages ​​and Civilizations (INALCO) in 2017. Her thesis examines Chinese documentary cinema from both historical and sociological perspectives. During her doctoral studies, she also directed the Shadows festival, dedicated to independent Chinese cinema, while simultaneously leading regular discussions and programming Chinese films. Since 2021, she has been a lecturer in the Department of Chinese Studies at Rennes 2 University and a member of the Interlanguage Research Team: Memories, Identities, Territories. Her recent research focuses on contemporary Chinese art-house cinema, and more specifically on the first fiction films made by young directors.
