It’s the rainy season in the Tibetan highlands. Puddles and mud cover the streets of a small rural village. Wangdrak is the only child without rain boots and his impoverished farmer father has no money to buy any. When an itinerant merchant passes the village, Wangdrak's mother finally buys him a pair of colorful plastic rain boots in secret. But by then, rain has stopped and - even worse - the father, calls on a local shaman to ward off potentially damaging rains for better harvest. Wangdrak and his best friend Lhamo come up with a plan to make it rain again to make best use of the new boots.
