Claire, a famous singer, flies to Japan for one, last, sold-out concert. When the concert finishes, her life on earth also comes to an end. A new, unexpected life then opens up before her: life after death where Yuzo, one of her biggest fans, is waiting for her. “I’ve always wondered what happens after death, what the after-life might be like. This existential question has always troubled mankind and is the starting point for numerous religions and philosophies. But, of course, we will never know the truth and we can only imagine answers. This film deals with humankind’s discovery of an afterworld where, beyond the chasm which separates death from life, we find what remains of the soul, redemption, love and guardian angels. ‘Spirit World’ expresses the hope that death is not the end and that love can sometimes transcend and overcome it. Life goes on, even after death. I hope that those are the thoughts and the message that the viewer will go away with after watching the film.” Eric Khoo
