Chatila and Reda are two Palestinian cousins who have sought refuge in Athens. Together, they resort to all sorts of schemes to raise a large sum of money that will enable them to buy fake passports, their ticket to Germany, where they dream of finally being able to build a new life. But this quest pushes them beyond their limits, leaving behind a part of themselves in the hope of a better future. "Palestine is a mosaic of stories and situations. We are essentially a people in exile. I tried to put myself in Reda and Chatila's shoes. How would I act if I found myself stripped of everything: human rights, citizenship, papers, money, help, and even dignity? How would I survive in such conditions? They each have their own ways of coping with this situation: Reda resorts to sex work in the park for money, while Chatila turns to Tatiana. I wanted to paint as authentic a portrait as possible of these two characters, to accompany them so that viewers could gain access to a world they would not otherwise know." Mahdi Fleifel
