Zhang Lu
Zhang Lu was born in Jilin in 1962. With a degree in Chinese literature, he wrote several novels and short stories before turning his attention to film. In 2001, he directed a short film, Eleven, followed in 2003 by his first feature film, Tang Poetry. Since then, all of his films have been selected for major international festivals. Four have been presented at FICA, including Grain in Ear in 2006 and Yanagawa in 2022, both of which won the Cyclo d'Or award.
