Rashid Mashawari  

Rashid Masharawi was born in 1962 in a refugee camp in Gaza. From the age of 18, he worked in the film industry. He directed his first documentary, Travel Document, in 1986. Haifa was the first Palestinian film to be selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival. His films, both fiction and documentary, have won numerous international awards.
