Haifaa Al-Mansour studied literature at the American University in Cairo before obtaining a master's degree in cinema at the University of Sydney. She is considered the first Saudi female director, and her film Wadjda (2013) is the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia. Selected in around forty festivals around the world, he received numerous awards, notably in Venice, Rotterdam and Dubai.
