Dear Marc, it is already a year since you boarded the ill-fated plane of fate. Since then, you have lived in the hearts and memories of your family, your friends and those who knew you. Pax Aeterna.

On Friday, July 8th, Mohammad Rasoulof and Mostafa Aleahmad, respected and dedicated Iranian filmmakers, were arrested in their residences and transferred to Evin prison. A day later Jafar Panahi was arrested while he was waiting in front of the prison with other filmmakers to enquire about the arrest.
As we continue to strongly condemn the authorities for their disregard of basic human rights and civil liberties and the persistent repression and pressure inflicted on independent Iranian filmmakers, we demand the immediate and unconditional release of our colleagues.
We ask for support from artists and filmmakers all over the world for the release of the imprisoned artists.

Today we learned of the arrest in Tehran of Mohammad Rasoulof and Jafar Panahi.
Jafar Panahi was president of the international jury at the FICA in 2004 The festival awarded him a golden cyclo d'honneur in 2010.
Mohammad Rasoulof was a member of the jury in 2015. The festival programmed almost all their films.
We offer our full support in this new ordeal to these two directors who are recognized internationally as great filmmakers and who are not only prevented from exercising their talent but deprived of their freedom.

Tribute and creation of Jury and Marc Haaz Prize at the 28th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas (February 1st – 8th, 2022 )
The festival is in mourning: Marc Haaz, its technical director, was killed in a plane crash on July 30, 2021, at the age of 33. He was one of the pillars of the festival.
Marc Haaz was not only the technical director of FICA, he was also an actor, director, producer, distributor. He was destined for a brilliant career in the world of cinema. It was a solar being struck down, in full professional rise, by fate.
Tribute will be paid to him during the opening ceremony on February 1st 2022.
It was decided to create a Marc Haaz Jury, made up of young directors, awarding a Marc Haaz prize, to a young director.
