Hassan, a 17-year-old Palestinian, is trapped amidst the war and famine raging in Gaza. His attempt to retrieve a bag of flour results in four days of detention, followed by forced displacement from his family, leaving him alone for a fifteen-month journey from northern to southern Gaza. He lost his younger brother before his displacement and his father during the expulsion. The obsessive desire to return home has never left him, fueled by the hope of finding what remained of his family: his mother and sister. Drawing on the knowledge and experience gained during the production of From Ground Zero, initiated by Rashid Masharawi, From Ground Zero + is a project that presents a diverse range of portraits of life in Gaza. Each work explores a particular facet of the human experience in the face of armed conflict, during a difficult period of reconstruction and collective mourning. This perspective offers a new vision of resilience and hope in a situation that remains uncertain.
