In the mountainous landscapes of Sri Lanka's Knuckles Range, a police convoy of three officers is tasked with escorting a young prisoner to his village in the Riverstone region. The destination is grim: the unspoken goal of the mission is the suspect's extrajudicial execution. As the journey progresses, tension mounts not between the police officers and the prisoner, but within the convoy itself. Despite their shared mission, the three officers are distracted by their own moral dilemmas, personal anxieties, and secret motivations. Ironically, the young prisoner becomes a mirror of his captors' hypocrisy and faltering morality. The journey reveals complex divisions: between men, between the Tamil and Sinhalese communities, and between those who hold different levels of power. This fateful journey turns into a meditation on duty, morality, abuse of power, and the possibility of humanity and connection in the face of state violence. “In our country, it is very common for the state, which should uphold the rule of law, to flout it instead.
