Synopsis

In Thailand, abortion is legal during the first three months of pregnancy. Fren, who is one month pregnant, hesitates for the next two months, torn between her love for the child she is carrying and the difficulties of bringing a life into such a challenging world. As a human resources professional, she has gained a deep understanding of people's lives through her interviews with many young recruits. "Apart from death, giving life makes us reflect on the true meaning of existence and its links to family, society, economics, politics, religion, and science. Over the past decade, declining birth rates in many parts of the world reflect a sentiment shared by the populations of our time." With biting humor and a disturbing ability to echo our experiences, Human Resource seeks to understand what it means to exist in a world that may not have been designed for us, but which nevertheless requires us to play the game.
