Duality - DO-GANEHGI 

Pitch

One day in early spring in Tehran, a young couple, Tara and Nima, leave their home. Nima, who has gone to work, goes to a café after office hours to celebrate a colleague's birthday. Tara, meanwhile, searches the market for a piece of fabric for the evening dress she is supposed to wear to a wedding ceremony that same evening, an excuse to wander around the city looking for a place to bury her secrets. Later that day, after a long argument, the two set off and leave the city to attend the wedding. Meanwhile, Aban, a young girl who has recently entered into a romantic relationship, sets off on another journey after meeting her lover. Their paths, both ordinary and fateful, begin to cross and respond to each other in a way that transcends the limits of time and space. Abbas Nezamdoost plays subtly between black and white and color, mixing fragments of ordinary life and lyrical moments with both audacity and subtlety. Duality breaks with the classic forms of Iranian cinema and asserts itself as the expression of a new aesthetic trend.
