Platform - ZHANTAI

During the winter of 1979, in Fenyang, a theatre troupe performs its play exalting Mao Zedong. The lives of Mingliang and his friends revolve around their performances and budding romances. In the spring of 1980, small changes gradually start to impact the life of the theatre troupe : pop music, permed hair, smoking cigarettes... In the middle of the 1980s, government policy changes and state grants are scrapped. The group's future becomes uncertain, the relations between its members too.
