Lang comes back to his home town on the edge of the Gobi desert. While he is working for the local patrol tasked with removing stray dogs from the town, he befriends one of them. This encounter is to mark a new beginning for these two solitary souls.
"This film is the fruit of what I personally have observed. In it, I examine the changes that have occurred in China within the last twenty years or so as well as their positive or negative repercussions on individuals. Living in China, I have experienced the development of this country over the past decades first hand. I have always been curious about what life was like during this period for people in places outside the big cities or in the most remote parts of my country. There are bound to be people who have been left behind." Guan Hu
Jia Zhang-ke stars in this film.
