Nisha is 16 years old. At home with her family she is the perfect little Pakistani daughter. Outside, with her friends, she is an ordinary, Norwegian teenager. When her father surprises her in her bedroom with her boyfriend, Nisha’s life goes haywire.

“I come from a culture where tradition and the sense of honour are the two predominant values. Nisha’s story is very personal to me. When I was 14, my parents kidnapped me and took me to Pakistan, where I had to live for a year and a half. I waited until I felt I was ready, as a filmmaker and as a human being, to dare tell my story, as calmly and as sincerely as possible. I didn’t want the heroine to come across solely as the victim of her parents. I wanted to make the audience feel for themselves this impossible love that can exist between parents and their daughter.
