Kaneko's Commissary - KANEKÒS COMMISAR

Pitch

Kaneko, imprisoned for violence, was a man who used to get angry even with his wife when she came to visit him in prison. Thanks to the support of his family – his wife, child and uncle – this man, seemingly with no future, was able to start anew. Now, Kaneko runs a commissary that delivers items to people in prison, like he once was, and visits them on behalf of their families. However, this peace is shattered when his son's school friend, Karin, is found dead, and the murderer's mother calls on Kaneko's services. Having to confront the murderer in his role as messenger, he becomes increasingly overcome by doubt and anger. He also meets a high school student who visits the detention centre daily. For some obscure reason, she wants to meet the man who killed her mother. Gradually, Kaneko starts to feel pressure mounting again, in particular when he senses his son is endangered. While grappling with the mysteries surrounding these cases, his own past is revealed to his family circle, shaking the foundations of their bonds.
