Shin Su-won

Shin Su-Won, born in South Korea in 1967, studied German at Seoul National University before specializing in screenwriting at the Korea National University of Arts. Her first feature film, Passerby #3 (2010), won awards at Jeonju and Tokyo. She gained international recognition with Circle Line (2012) at Critics' Week in Cannes, followed by Pluto (2013), which won an award at the Berlinale. Her films Madonna (2015), Glass Garden (2017), Light for Youth (2019) and Hommage (2021) have been selected for numerous major festivals, including Cannes, Busan, Tribeca, and Tokyo. Her latest film, The Mutation (2025), had its world premiere at the 30th Busan International Film Festival. She has also been a jury member at several international festivals.
