Pawo Choyning Dorji

Pawo Choyning Dorji was born in 1963 in Darjeeling, India. He is a Bhutanese writer, photographer, and filmmaker. In 2012, he assisted Khyentse Norbu on Vara - A Blessing. In 2016, he produced a feature film, Hema Hema - Sing Me a Song While I Wait, which was well-received at the Locarno and Toronto film festivals. In 2019, he directed his first feature film, The School at the End of the World, which won awards at numerous festivals. The Monk and the Gun is his second feature film.
