Park Chan-wook  

Park Chan-wook was born in Seoul in 1963. He studied philosophy at Sogang University. He began working in cinema in 1988 and directed his first film in 1992, but it was the critical and commercial success of JSA that propelled him to international prominence. With Old Boy, which won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, he achieved international stature.
