Kurdwin Ayub  

Kurdwin Ayub was born in Iraq in 1990. Both her parents are doctors. She grew up in Vienna, where her family sought refuge in 1991. From 2008 to 2013, she studied painting and experimental animation at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. At the same time, she studied performance art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 2022, she directed her first feature film, Sonne. She received the award for best film at the Vienna International Film Festival.
