Katayoon Shahabi

Katayoon Shahabi began her career in 1985 at the Farabi Foundation, where she promoted Iranian cinema, notably the films of Kiarostami, Naderi, and Makhmalbaf. In 1994, she co-founded Cima Media International, developing her expertise in co-production and her international network. In 2001, she created Sheherazad Media International, the first private Iranian company dedicated to sales and co-production, supporting both young talents such as Rasoulof and Farhadi and the great director Rakhshan Banietemad. After her arrest, she founded Noori Pictures in France in 2012, several of whose films have been selected for Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. A member of numerous juries, she has been a Commander of the Arts and Letters since 2017.
