Michel Ocelot was born on the French Riviera, who relocated to Guinea, West Africa for much of his childhood, moving back to Anjou in France during his adolescence. He was never formally taught , but made a career out of animation. Since beginning, he writes hiw own stories, draws all characters himself and imagines the graphic designs. In 1998, he gains International fame with his first long animation fiction feature, Kirikou and the Sorceress.
