Hubert Niogret

Hubert Niogret was born in 1945 in Lyon. He is a film critic, mainly for the magazine Positif. He is the author of books on cinema (on Akira Kurosawa, Shohei Imamura, Julien Duvivier and numerous entries in the Dictionnaire du cinéma asiatique). From 1972 to 2005, he taught at the university. Since 1974, he has been a producer of feature films by Claude Miller, Luc Béraud... and executive producer of James Ivory, Jean-Jacques Beineix... Since 1996, he has also been a documentary director mainly on Asian cinema. He is the president of the critics.
