Royston Tan was born in 1976 in Singapore. He is a graduate of the Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, where he took courses in visual communication. In 2000, he directed his first short film. It was 15: The Movie that made him known internationally. He has shot around twenty films, short and feature films, and is also a screenwriter and producer.
