In a prosperous village from Anatolia, people celebrate the wedding of a sixty-year-old old bachelor and a bride whose face remains hidden behind a red veil. he cortege enters the bridegroom’s village, festivities are in full swing. This wedding will end to the bloodsheds between the two clans in the village. In the local tradition, the bride is taken to the nuptial bedroom where her mother gives her advices. The bridegroom then enters the room, gives her a present, and the face of a fourteen-year-old girl is revealed under the red veil. The ancestral tradition must be followed and the bridegroom must consummate this marriage. Behind the closed doors of the bedroom, the bridegroom (exceptionally acted) tries to win over his young wife. The naïve and candid bride uses all sorts of ploys to alley her fear. Both are victims of a deeply anchored tradition totally outdated. Dawn is about to break…
