Shogen made his film debut in Bloody Snake Under The Sun in 2005. He moved to New York in 2008 and took classes at Backnexxus under the direction of Susan Batson. In recent years, he has actively participated in various productions around the world. He stars in the HBO film Gensan Punch, directed by award-winning Filipino director Brillante Mendoza. The film won the Kim Jiseok Prize at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in 2021 and is in competition at FICA in 2022. He received the Asian Star Award at BIFF in 2022. In 2023, he became an ambassador of Cinema at Sea-Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival.
