3 Aventures de Brooke

Xingxi (Brooke), a young Chinese woman, is travelling alone in the north of Malaysia. She has three distinct yet parallel adventures that start in the same way: on a very hot day, lost on the roadside, her bicycle has got a flat tyre… - 'Each one of us creates their own solitary planet. It is only thanks to luck and chance that we find ourselves in the same orbit, travelling in the same direction, no matter how long or short the time we spend together may be. When we finally part at the end of the journey, we say 'Take care' before going our separate ways. Three stories, a single protagonist, the same setting and the same unity of time. However, because of minute changes in the universe, Brooke makes three different journeys, all of them wonderful. In turn, these adventures enable her to become more mature. While expressing my greatest respect for Eric Rohmer's work, I hope that my film will evoke the lightness, poignancy, intimacy and refinement of 'life's uncertainties' as seen through the eyes of a young woman.'
