On the path leading to the village cemetery, a procession of women dressed in black braves the hot sun, clutching photos of their husbands, fathers or sons. - Some wear a veil, others a cross, but they are all mourning together, the consequence of a deadly, pointless war. When they reach the cemetery gates, the procession divides into two: one Muslim, the other Christian. - Set against the backdrop of a war-torn country, Where Do We Go Now? tells the story of the unfailing determination of a group of women belonging to different faiths to protect their families and their village from outside threats. These women, demonstrating remarkable resourcefulness, inventing all sorts of schemes, and united by lasting friendship, pursue a single goal: to distract the men and make them forget their anger and their divisions. - But when events take on a tragic turn, how far will they be willing to go to avoid losing those who still remain. |
