Once Upon a Time in Gaza

Gaza, 2007; Yahya, a dreamy student, becomes friends with Osama, a charismatic, big-hearted dealer. Their tiny falafel restaurant serves as a front for the drug operation they set up together. But their plan is soon thwarted by a corrupt police officer who crosses their path. - 'We chose the title �Once upon a Time' because it reflects the nature of life in Gaza - a life that lacks stability, continuity, security. Nothing there is guaranteed. Yesterday's events with all their sweetness and bitterness can become mere memories the next day or even turn into deeper sorrow. Our entire story can be wiped out overnight… We dream of making a purely Palestinian film one day, one that would have nothing to do with politics. But that will only be possible when Palestinians have obtained their basic human rights - justice, freedom and dignity. This is what is happening right now in this genocidal war.
