Beautiful Dreamer

In-seon, who has kept her husband's ashes for the three years since he committed suicide, decides that it is, at last, time to let him go. However, when her daughter, Su-yeon, comes home and objects to the idea, In-seon starts having doubts about her decision. In the increasingly tense situation, Su-yeon tries to recover the ashes but accidentally shatters the urn. With no other choice, mother and daughter have to cope with the grief they have buried for years… and say their final goodbye on a beautiful, sunny day. - Lee Kwang-kuk explores the difficulty of expressing one's grief after bereavement. He seeks to show how, despite silence, a lack of words or things left unsaid, memories, brief encounters and remembrance can slowly, albeit hesitantly, lead to a more serene, caring life. He would like to enable everyone, if only for a while, to sleep peacefully. - �Beautiful Dreamer' also questions the social stigma surrounding suicide in a society where the death of a loved one is often shrouded in shame, and how this stigma weighs down on those who remain behind.
