Welcome Home Freckles

After four years away, a young woman returns to Daegu, South Korea, determined to end the family conflicts that have plagued her childhood. For as long as anyone can remember, her family have hurt each other, unable to live in harmony. Despite their efforts to find peace, the wounds of the past remain raw. Through conversations with her parents, she uncovers a pattern of domestic violence deeply rooted in her family's history. In the end, she realizes that only she can break the cycle. - 'This story is both personal and universal. I found the courage to confront my own family through this journey, and as a filmmaker, I wanted to shed light on the impact of intergenerational domestic violence. - The process of learning, of getting to know and understand one another is not easy for anyone. So I decided to make this film to offer comfort to those experiencing similar situations, reminding them that it happens to others too.' Park Huiju
