Hae-Joon, an experienced detective, is investigating the suspicious death of a man on a mountaintop. Almost immediately, he begins to suspect Seo-rae, the dead man's wife. She does not seem at all shaken by her husband's demise and her behaviour is so surprising for a widow that the police treat her as a suspect. Hae-joon interrogates Seo-rae. And while she is placed under close surveillance and he is observing her every move, he gradually feels drawn towards her. We have a suspect who is hiding her true feelings and an investigator who suspects and yet desires her… - Part detective novel, part love story, the film unfolds its intriguing characters, its moments of unexpected humour and its sensual scenario signed by Park Chan-wook. �Decision to Leave' is both a love story and a crime drama rolled into one, but what I really want to emphasise is that it's a story about loss which adults can relate to.
