My Old Me |
|
Since my childhood, I have carried within myself an 'imaginary me' called 'Rachael Lee', who lives in France. I thought she would eventually fade away but even in my mid-twenties, she is still there. Refusing to leave her as a mere dream, I took my camera and set off for France to discover who 'Rachael Lee' really is and who I am. - 'When I arrived in France in search of 'Rachael lee', what I found, ironically, was Korea. It was the women who had lived there before me. It was the young women who, like me, are living there today. A space where identities slip away. Within it, I saw those who had vanished and those who were fighting to break free. Inside each personal desire lies a huge society. It's the reason why this film is both a journey to find 'Rachael Lee' and an attempt to shield her by running away. - I would like to share this story with those who carry their own 'Rachael Lee' within themselves. And I would like to remember those who have not been able to do so.' Cherin Lee |
