Duality |
|
One day at the beginning of spring in Tehran, a young couple, Tara and Nima, leave their home. Nima, after going to work, goes to a café after business hours to celebrate a colleague's birthday. As for Tara, she has been wandering through the market looking for a piece of fabric for the evening dress that she is supposed to be wearing the same evening at a wedding ceremony, an excuse to roam around the city in search of a place to bury her secrets. Later in the day, after a long argument, both of them set off, leaving the city in order to go to the wedding. Meanwhile, Aban, a girl newly involved in a love affair, meets her lover then sets out on another road. Their paths, both ordinary and fateful, begin to intersect and respond in a way that reaches beyond the limits of time and space. - Abbas Nezamdoost moves subtly between black and white and colour, mingles fragments of ordinary life and lyrical moments, at once boldly and delicately. Duality' breaks with the classic forms of Ira- nian cinema and stands as the expression of a new aesthetic movement. |
