YI KHEL GI KAWA

Lingshi is a mountain village at an altitude of 12,000 ft (3,600 meters) located in the Greater Himalayas of Bhutan. It takes four days to trek into this wilderness. Ugen Tenzin, 49, has been the postal runner for 26 years. He walks to the capital of Bhutan every month. His journey lasts from twelve to fifteen days. These solitary treks, both adventurous and dangerous, sometimes bring him close to death. But his dedication has paid off: his 26 years of service and a steady income have made him fairly prosperous. - Despite the odds, the risk involved, and the tiring ascents and descents of high mountains and valleys, he will continue until retirement. He has seen and experienced both sides of life in the bustling city and his quiet village. Given the choice, it's home that's best, even if it takes four days to get there. - Through the main character, the film introduces us to the yak-rearing community of Lingshi. They live in a pristine environment - difficult yet peaceful, with just the bare necessities of life.
