Khaled, Mohammed, Ahmed and Muaz are members of the Palestinian amputee football team from Gaza which has been invited to come and play in France against the French national amputee football team. In Gaza, each of these young players gets on with their life while sharing the same passion for football. During their stay in France, they never forget their country which they are proud to represent, although they feel homesick at times. Within a dangerous political context, these young amputees give us a lesson about life, resilience and hope in overcoming the difficulties life holds in store for us.
“We live in an open-air prison, and to find themselves overnight in France, in the land of Human Rights with the national motto “Freedom, Equality, Fraternity”, far away from Israeli bombs, was like a moment out of time.
