It is the end of summer in a working class neighbourhood in Haifa. Zion, 14 years old, and his older brother Meir, 17 years old, live with their mother, Ilana. The relationship between these two teenagers is suddenly disrupted by the accidental death of one of their friends, a young Ethiopian immigrant. Only they know the secret of the circums tances of the accident, a weighty secret to carry around.

I found a simple, realistic, brutal story, nothing sensational. I envisioned directing this movie, putting people at the centre of my concerns, respecting the human person, his modest circumstances, his authentic vulnerability and his awareness of his limits. I wanted to depict this world as realistically as possible without moderating its harshness. I used non-professional actors as well as professionals and we shot the movie in natural settings and light for realism. I tried to film the hardship of this world with compassion and love. The actor is in the centre of this world and the object of the camera’s gaze.”» Eran Merav
