Sang-Woo, a young sound engineer, lives in Seoul with his father, his aunt and his grandmother, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. One winter, he meets Eun-Su, who works in broadcasting on the radio and with whom he is to go out into the country several weeks running, recording the sounds in nature. Gradually, as they record the sound of water lapping, of wind in bamboo and watch together silent, falling snowflakes, they grow closer and fall in love.

Time passes. All is well with the two young thirty-year-olds. But Eun-Su, divorced, restless and at odds with herself, ends up refusing the love of Sang-Woo. They finally split up. After having suffered terribly from this unhappy love affair, Sang-Woo is almost beginning to get over Eun-Su when all of a sudden she unexpectedly reappears. But love is no longer on the agenda. Is that the end of the affair? Is it possible to really break off?
