Cheon Gi-ho is the son of Cheon Sang Min, a rotten scoundrel landlord. Gi-ho keeps trying to get closer to Yeong-jin. Gi-ho was tortured by the Japanese police and he is now mad. The village people praise him somehow for his bizarre behaviour, they like it. Gi-ho puts some pressure on Mr. Choi to pay back his debt to him. Gi-ho’s hired hands, bully Duk-bae and tall Yeong-dal, are constantly harassing Mr. Choi to get his money. Yeong-jin’s sister Yeong-hee hears about her boyfriend Hyeon-gu’s visit during his school vacation. Hyeon-gu is anxious to see Yeong-hee and Yeong-jin. Yet, Yeong-jin’s appearance disappoints him. Mr. Choi is getting an oppressive threat from the Cheon family . Gi-ho tries to rape Yeong-hee. Yeong-jin has witnessed it but he was just laughing. When Yeong-jin’s suddenly becomes aware of it, he almost kills Gi-ho with a knife.
