We are in the twenties, at the time of Japanese occupation. An-hyop lives in a small remote village in the mountains where the main activity is silkworm rearing. Sambo, her husband, is an inveterate gambler who does not care for his family. He often leaves and An-hyop is compelled to sell herself to the men of the village for a few coins, and even sometimes for nothing. She is hated by the village women who consider her as a dangerous rival and want to make her leave. Sambtol, the servant of her old neighbour, is the one man upon whom she never bestowed her favours. He is very poor and as stupid as he is strong. One day, he cannot bear any more to be constantly rejected and decides to take revenge... Lee Doo-yong chose to treat this story as a comedy. He directed two other films afterwards.
