Because of a hydroelectric dam construction, all inhabitants of a tribal village had to leave their lands and forests where they always lived, and settle in a city. Their way of life has changed forever. In the new village, the three generations of the Hoi Lon family try to find the best way to adapt to their new life style. The grand-father cannot manage at all, the father hardly manages but tries his best for the sake of his children, and the daughter appreciates her new life. “We live in a world in a process of a total mutation. Today, the world is confronted to two struggles: the search for prosperity and development, and the desire to keep one’s identity and traditions. Which is the best option? None is perfect for everyone. Let’s see how it happens in Vietnam, a country in the process of transformation.” Doan Hong Le
