Mohammad Rasoulof was born in 1973 in Shiraz. He shot several short films, before directing his first feature film The Twilight in 2002, selected in several international festivals. In 2005, Life on Water was selected for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. In 2009, Goodbye received the directing prize in the Un Certain Regard section. The Manuscripts Don’t Burn was in the official selection in this section in 2013, and An Integrated Man received the Un certain regard prize in 2017.
