Nuri Bilge Ceylan was born in 1959 in Istanbul. After graduating from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, he studied cinema at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He is currently one of the most famous Turkish directors worldwide.
