Hur Jin-ho was born in 1963. He graduated from Korean Academy of Film Arts. His first short, For Go-chul, had been selected at Vancouver Film Festival. He cowrote A single Spark and Kilimandjaro screenplays. His debut feature, Christmas in August had been selected at Critics' Week in Cannes.
