Kamiyama Kenji as born in 1966 in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. After working as background artist between 1985 and 1996, he worked with Oshii Mamoru on Jin-Roh, la brigade des loups, and Blood : The Last Vampire. In 2002 he made his directorial debut with MiniPato, followed by Ghost in the Shell series in 2003, 2004 and 2011.
